I found a Hedgehog
So what do I do?
Don't panic, we're here to help

If you come across a hedgehog in the warmer months, and it looks healthy then the best thing you can do is leave it alone. Hedgehogs are wild animals and so can get very easily stressed by contact with people. They are also nocturnal and hibernate in the winter, so if you find a hedgehog staggering around during the day or in the cold then it might be in trouble.
- Any wild animal rescued when it doesn't need to be rescued can end up with problems caused by fear and the stress of capture.
Hedgehogs may appear to be docile in the hope that you will go away and leave them alone. If in doubt please contact us and we can help you. We are based in North Lincolnshire but if you are in another area please consult our map to find your closest rescue centre. In the event you find a hedgehog badly injured, follow our emergency department link.
